Wednesday evening, President Biden issued an executive order to continue construction of a border wall along the Texas border.
According to The Associated Press and CNN, the executive order will give the federal government the power to bypass more than two dozen federal laws, including the Clean Water Act and Endangered Species Act. In addition, it will exempt the federal government from potential lawsuits.
The executive order will draw from funds previously approved by Congress under former President Trump in 2019.
The move represents a dramatic policy reversal of Biden and the Democrat Party who originally criticized Trump’s border wall and campaigned on sensible immigration solution.
As of this morning, there was no comment from Democrat leadership.
